What type of grill is there?
Each cabin has a gas grill. I provide propane, and there will be an extra tank. Nothing like running out of gas in the middle of grilling those awesome steaks!
What time is check-in/ check-out? Can we check in early/late?
Check-in is any time after 3 pm. Checkout is any time before 11 am. I try to ensure that cleaners have all the time they need to ensure your cabin is pristine for your arrival.
Early check-ins/ late checkouts are difficult, especially in this time of Covid.
What should we plan to bring? What is provided?
Bring your food, adventure clothing, firewood for your fire pit, and that's about all.
We provide all bed linens, towels and washcloths, toilet paper, paper towels, Folgers and filters for your drip coffee maker, salt and pepper, and most all your basic dishes/ cooking utensils. If there is anything specific, feel free to ask!
Where is the closest grocery store or restaurant?
We are definitely in the wilderness! Nearby you have basics at JB Trading in Compton. Harrison, AR will have grocery stores, restaurants, and alcohol.
Be sure to check out Low Gap Cafe for lunch/dinner. It's not far, and it is a pretty drive!
NOTE: Newton County is a dry county. I know, I was surprised as well! Boone County/ Harrison, AR has liquor stores open except Sunday.
What does the Dark Sky designation mean? Do we actually get to see stars?
What is the address to our cabin? How do we navigate?
So, Newton County does not have any addresses that work with your GPS. We keep being promised to have our 911 addressing uploaded, but it just takes time... The Google Maps link included in your arrival email is the correct location. It's part of the adventure, right?
